Wiltshire: Lydiard Park

Lydiard Park is a 260 acre parkland forest and stately home which has loads of different activities and settings for everyone to enjoy. The park has been open since 1955, but it’s history can be traced to 1086. You can enjoy farmland trails, woodland walks, or enjoy a refreshing cup of tea at the Visitor Centre.

As usual the flasks were ready but instead of traveling in the Nice-Cuppa-Tea official wheels we decided to travel in style. My parents and I were lucky enough to ride in Steve and Sandy's Roll's Royce to the park.

Being a rather large car its almost a teaspot itself but we did leave the classy ambiance to lay out a picnic rug and crack open the flasks in the Lydiard Park grounds.

The Elizabethan House is the park’s focal point and is open on a daily basis to the public. Visitors can wander through the ground floor apartments where original family furnishings are preserved alongside portraits and photographs of the St. John family who lived here from the Elizabethan times.

A big thanks to Steve and Sandy for the trip out in such a stunning car!
