Gloucestershire: Cotswold Lakes

A few miles south of Cirencester, the extraction of sand and gravel has left a large series of lakes, known as the Cotswold Water Park. All the water here eventually reaches the Thames. Nearly all the lakes have ample parking and adequate facilities. We went to one of the favourite lakes in which users park under the old Railway bridge and follow the old line through to one of the more hidden more natural looking lakes.

Matt and Matt took unsuspecting friend Dave to this TeaSpot with them, he was pleasantly surprised how great TeaSpotting was and is now enthusiastic to contribute again. After a little walk down the old railway line we crossed a stile over towards the lake, check out the location on a map here.

This TeaSpot is a lovely walk but we ask those of you who do go to it to keep to the footpaths and respect the surroundings, this is a private lake and as our name is now associated with it we expect the tea community to respect this TeaSpot.
If you're interested in our TeaSpot tag finding competition then here's the clue: "Look out for the footpath sign when you reach the lake"
